Unfortunately I don't have a before picture of the table my mom revamped but I found a picture that is similar.
My mom got the table at a garage sale for $5.00!!!! She had originally bought the table to see if she liked the size in the kitchen and then was going to use it to do projects on in the garage. Then she decided to try glazing and thought this would be perfect to practice on. She used cottage white from dunn edwards and used a glaze with a smoke tint. She sanded the table and then used a brush to apply two coats of paint. Once it dried she sanded the edges of the table. Then, she put on the smoke glaze and once that dried she used a poly acrylic to seal it. I ended up putting the table in my house when I redecorated and I lOVE it!
The next thing I revamped was my red faith {sign???? have no idea ha ha}. I still liked it but definitely thought it needed a color change to match my new decor.
So we got out Rustoleum Painters Touch Green Apple and I really like how it turned out.
By my desk I had a faith family and friends sign and since we were on a paint anything streak I thought I would give it a try on the sign.
For the revamp I used a green that I had left over from my sons room {Behr potpourri green} and then I used a white that I had left over from my daughters room. I just painted the whole sign green and then took a small paint brush and hand painted the words. Then after it dried we used the smoke glaze again to shanty it up a bitI wanted to end my house decor revamp with something that my mom and I came up with together. I have vaulted ceilings in my kitchen so above my cabinets I have a lot of wall space. After I bought an awesome painting from Ross I knew I had 4 wall tins that I wanted to use. I had gotten 3 of them at a garage sale and my mom happen to have another one {so random} so I had a total of 4. Two of them were red and another one was yellow and we kept the green one. I painted one of the red tins white {and then glazed it} and the yellow the cloudburst blue. We started to lay out the 4 squares on the floor to figure out a pattern. Then my mom brought over the brown leather "picture" {don't know what else to call it he he} and laid it on top of the tins. We couldn't believe what we just created and LOVED the layered look. My mom was trying to figure a way to hang it when I chimed in and said we could hang the 4 tins and then get two long screws and have them stick out far enough so it hangs over the tins. It turned out better than I could have imagined and really is one of a kind!
Here are a few before pics of my house. And once again here is my disclaimer of it being a mess...but I get too excited and have to redecorate now :)
Here are the after pics!
Keep checking back for our next ReVamp!
