My mom is part of a girlfriend home decor group at her church. Several ladies get together and plan craft nights every month and they come up with some amazing ideas. My moms very talented friend Sharlene came up with this idea and we knew we had to put it on the blog. They are actually doing this project along with the cute frame idea from Shanty -2 -Chic {one of our favorite sites} And of course my mom always has to add her twist to any project she does :)
The supplies you need for the project were all from Hobby Lobby: a 5x5 piece of wood for .99 cents. Package of 1 1/2 inch unfinished birch wood wheels for $2.99. Unfinished wood Fleur De Lis for $1.99. A candle, piece of scrapbook paper and sheer ribbon about 1 1/2 inches wide, black paint {or whatever color you chose}, 2 crystals, sand paper and Gorilla wood glue. {glitter if desired}
First paint the unfinished wood pieces black. Then glue the wheels in the corners of the underside of the 5x5 wood. Use a 12x12 piece of paper and size it to your liking. Wrap the paper around the candle and use craft glue to attach the ends of the paper together. Next, you need to drill or punch holes on the two ends for the crystals and also punch two holes in the middle for the ribbon. Then, put elmers glue on the fleur de lis and sprinkle the black glitter on it. Now, attach the crystals with wire onto the fleur de lis. Thread your ribbon through the fleur de lis and then tie it around the candle. If you want your stand to look shanty then take your sanding block and rough up the edges. Put your candle on the stand and Enjoy!
